An example. Ask to see a board (show me the departures board for Liverpool Street) and Claude or ChatGPT draws this one in the chat, with live times. Or open a live board for your own station, to share or put on your own page.

Examples

Which platform is the next train from Cambridge to Kings Cross?

Does the 13:42 stop at Manningtree?

How do I get from Cambridge to Huntingdon on Saturday morning?

Why install Traintrackr?

Without a connector, Claude searches the web for departure boards. Most load their times in the browser, and it can't read them.

I couldn't get a trustworthy live board for right now. The one feed that answered returned departures starting at 17:35, about four hours after your 13:45, so it's either cached or showing evening peak. I don't want to give you times that could be wrong.

If you just want to check it yourself, the live board is National Rail - London Liverpool Street departures.

Add it to Claude

Traintrackr is a connector: you add it to Claude once, and Claude uses it when you ask about trains. It is free, and works on every Claude plan.

  1. On claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app, open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Choose +, then Add custom connector.
  3. Give it the name Traintrackr, and copy this address into the URL field. It is for Claude to use, not a page to open in your browser.

    https://traintrackr.live/mcp

  4. Leave Advanced settings empty, and choose Add.
  5. Choose Connect. Claude opens the Traintrackr sign-in page. Enter your email address, then the six-digit code sent to it. There is no password.
  6. Start a new chat and ask about a train. If Claude doesn't use Traintrackr, open the + menu under the message box, choose Connectors and turn Traintrackr on.

Add it to ChatGPT

ChatGPT adds it through developer mode, on the web, in Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu plans. In a workspace, an admin may have to allow developer mode first.

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Go to Plugins and choose the + button. Give it the name Traintrackr, paste the connector address and choose OAuth.
  3. ChatGPT opens the Traintrackr sign-in page. Enter your email address, then the six-digit code sent to it, and finish creating the app.
  4. In a new chat, open the + menu, choose Developer mode and select Traintrackr.
